The work of “translation” that our company carries out is not merely a matter of converting one language into another.

In the exchange of advanced technical, legal, and industrial information between Japan and Europe, particularly the German-speaking world, companies capable of serving as a highly accurate conduit are rare, and we take great pride in playing a part in fulfilling that role. The conviction that the loss of this function would have a tangible impact on the international competitiveness of Japanese companies and ultimately on economic activity itself, lies at the heart of my stewardship of this company. Above all, I believe that the knowledge and skill of our translators, handed down over 115 years, constitutes an invaluable asset not only for our company but for Japan itself.

In recent years, the environment surrounding our industry has changed rapidly and profoundly. The rise of AI has played a major role in this shift, prompting a fundamental reassessment of the meaning and value of translation as a profession.

Even so, our employees have continued to devote themselves constantly to honing their knowledge and skills, pursuing the highest quality of service that only human translation can produce. Moreover, so that this effort does not end as a mere passing endeavor but is instead preserved as an asset for future generations, we have begun verification work on the development of our own proprietary AI translation engine trained on a highly curated dataset. By placing absolute priority on quality over quantity, and by training the engine exclusively on data that has been checked and verified by seasoned translators, we aim to pursue a level of consistency and reliability unmatched by any other. This initiative is not merely about improving operational efficiency; it represents a major challenge for us as we strive to play our part in supporting the world's intellectual infrastructure.
